I found American and Turkish weddings having some similarities and some differences. First of all, wedding dresses are the same. In both cultures, brides wear a white wedding dress and grooms put on a tuxedo. Also both cultures invite all of their families and friends. Another similarity is that they both have good music and food at their weddings. In both cultures groom should not see the bride on wedding day.
In terms of some differences on wedding day; in America, people usually give gifts or gift card s to the marrying couples. In Turkey, people get gold instead of gifts or gift cards. There is another difference also bridemaids. In Turkey brides do not have bride maids. We can say that both cultures have bachelor s' party but in Turkish culture usually only ladies celebrate it with the Hannah party. Around wedding time in American culture, there is a wedding shower and couples register in to the stores for whatever they need. However, in Turkey bride’s and groom’s families buy anything they want; there is no registration at the stores. American and Turkish wedding have some differences ,but wedding time is very special and exiting time for all the cultures.
