Indian and American Wedding Tradition

Similarities :
In both traditions , they both do the promises to live with each other for whole life in front of god like in place of worship.
Brides have to change their surnames after their marriage.
They have receptions on the day after their marriage.
They both have to go on their honeymoon after their marriage.

Differences:
The Sikh Anand karaj (Ceremony of Bliss) is conducted in the Gurduwara Sahib (Sikh temple).
American wedding tradition is to have the ceremony in a church or place of worship.
In American tradition, brides used to wear white dress , but in Indian tradition brides used to wear red sari or lengha.
American marriages are used to be held in churches and in Indian tradition marriages used to be held in Gurduwara sahib ( Sikh Temple).
In India marriages are used to be arranged, and in America marriages are not arranged. It is their own choice .

You chose the nice, interesting idea of paragraph, used many good examples. I've known a lot of new about the indian wedding.
Although would you mind if I give you a couple suggestions:
- we had to write it like a story, so make topic and concluding sentences;
- use comparisons and comparative adjectives (for ex. p.127 and p.141 of "Blueprints")
Good luck!

Topic/Concluding:
You need a topic sentence that explains your topic and tells that you are going to talk about the similarities and differences of the topic. You also need a concluding sentence.

Supporting Ideas:
You should separate the paragraph with transitions instead of headings that say "similarites:"
Very clear ideas. You could explain a little more about similarities.

Transitions/Vocabulary:

In both traditions (no comma) they make promises..

Try using p. 127 transitions to connect your ideas.
Grammar/Comparitives:
You need two comparitives.
God (capitalized)
wear (not used to wear)
are held (not used to be held) these mean that it happened in the past.
