English and Vietnamese

English is the most difficult language to learn. However it has some similarities and differences with my language. The first similarity thing is the letters. They are both alphabet: English is with 26 letters, Vietnamese is with 24 letters. The next similarity is the way to write the letters. People use the same way as Vietnamese to write the letters in English. The last similarity which is the easiest way when they learn English is sound the same. The way to read both two language more similar. They can speak English without learning because people speak English sound the same as Vietnamese language. It helps us learn English faster than other people.
However, they differ some important ways about grammar, pronunciation or vocabulary. Talking about grammar, there is a great deal of differences between those two languages. My language only has three tenses, in contrast, English has many tenses. It makes English more difficult to learn than Vietnamese . The order of words are also different. For example: English says "this is my mother" but in my language says" this is mother my". English has many rules about grammar yet Vietnamese has no rule. Also pronunciation is completely different. Some words in English has two or three even four syllables. In Vietnamese language, every word only has one syllable, no word has more than one. The last diference which is very interesting is vocabulary. English has many vocabularies whereas my language has least vocabularies than English. Every word in English has meaning but Vietnamese language must combine two words to make meaning of the words. English uses article like "a, an, the". Unlike English, Vietnamese language does not use them. There are a lot of differences and similarities between those two languages. It makes us to pay attention when learn English to communicate with foreigner.

Hi Katy, I have some suggestions for you.
- “But it has some thing like my language.” It is better not begin sentence with “but”. However it has something like my language.
In my opinion you should change your first sentence on “English is my second language that has some similarities and differences with my native language.”
- “The first thing is the letters.” First of all, it is letters.
- “Both they are alphabet: English with 26 letters, Vietnamese with 24 letters.” They are both alphabets: English is with 26 letters, but Vietnamese is with 24 letters.
- “One more thing the same is the way to write the letters.” Next similarity is the way how to write the letters.
- “….country when they learn English is sound the same.” ….learn English is pronunciation.
- “However, they differ some important thing about…” However, there are some differences too, like grammar and vocabulary.
- “…a great deal of differences between two those languages.” a great deal of differences between those two languages.
- “English has many rules about grammar yet Vietnamese has no rule.” English has many rules about grammar, but Vietnamese hasn’t.
- “Some words in English has two…” Some words in English have two…
- “…no word has more than one.” …any word has more than one.
- “English uses article "a, an, the".” English uses articles like "a, an, the."
- “….between two this languages” ….between this two languages.
- “It makes we have to learn it by…” It makes us to learn it by….
It was my suggestions. You can use it if you want to.
