Turning point

One of the turning points of my life was when my husband and I were waiting on the decision of the commission of American embassy in Moscow.
After the interview we had to wait a couple hours, while the commission was deciding about our possibility to immigrate in the US. We were walking through Moscow and talking like heroes from the story "Home". We were thinking: will our life change on won't. Also we were planing, like Maud Martha in the story, what we are going to do if we stay in Ukraine. It was our way of preparing ourselves to accept whatever the answer of the American embassy. Fortunately, the commission permitted us to immigrate to the US.
So, the turn point happened and it has change me. Through this situation I learned to not to be too hopeful, but rather be in a neutral position. Because it will be easier to accept even a negative result of a situation.

Hi Iryna! It seems to me, coming in the USA was a turning point for many people. Life has changed and now we learn to live in another country. I also waited for the decision about my visa and like you I tried to keep positive mood and make some plans about my future life here.
