Last summer, I was extremely surprised when I had my first car accident.
One of my friends, my two daughters and I decided to visit our fellow friends living in Mayfield Heights since they just returned from Turkey. They were there for two months for their summer vacation. I wanted to see them because I missed them and also they brought things that I asked them to buy for me. After hanging out, dining and shopping in Mayfield, I was planning to return home with my friend Tuba. As I was driving on Mayfield Road, I was completely shocked when another car crashed on to the passenger side of my van. I was going straight on the green but he was trying to make a left turn on red light. I was extremely upset by the accident, my children were crying, people were looking to us. I forgot to call the police in that craziness. Luckily a friendly driver stopped, asked us if we were o.k. and called the police for us. It was also surprising how fast the police came. They came to the accident scene in less than ten minutes. I'm always scared of the police. When I saw the policeman it made me feel worse; I started shaking and crying. After the long procedure he said that it was not my fault so I could go home. I was relieved a little bit but still we had to go to the hospital for a check up. We were in the hospital for many hours and I didn't return home until midnight that day.
I promised myself to be more careful next time when I drive in Mayfield Heights and elsewhere.
